Community Research Acquires Hartford Research Group

Cincinnati, OH 8/15/06 -- In a move to consolidate two of the region’s well-established clinical trial providers, Community Research today purchased Hartford Research Group for an undisclosed sum. “This is a new and exciting path for us as an organization,” said Community Research President and co-founder, Dr. David Mayleben, “Our acquisition of the Hartford Research Group will enable us to continue to develop and strengthen our efforts in CNS/Psychiatric clinical research. It is our goal to become the premier site in the Midwest for conducting such trials.”

The best part of this agreement,” continued Mayleben, “is that we can draw on the experience of Dr. James Hartford and his staff who have conducted over 250 clinical trials in Depression and Anxiety Disorders. Dr. Hartford is exceptionally well-known and respected, and will continue to work with us as both an investigator and consultant.”

“The acquisition of Hartford Research allows Community Research to continue our mission to make a difference in the lives of people throughout the region. With the added capabilities of the sale, Community Research now has an increased ability to provide clinical trials for every phase of life,” noted Community Research’s Medical Director and co-founder, Dr. Bruce Corser.

Community Research, founded in 1995, provides medical clinical research trials for investigational medications and devices for a wide array of conditions. Their dedication to safety, patient well-being, and human clinical trials as an important step on the way to improving health care and for providing potential new treatment options, has allowed them to grow from a single site operation to a multi-site provider. Community Research currently operates three, multi-therapeutic outpatient centers and one 36-Bed, Phase I Unit within the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky area.

Hartford Research’s main office, located at Bethesda Medi-Center North in Cincinnati, will phase out of operation by the end of the summer, with patients and services being incorporated into Community Research’s new Red Bank Expressway facility. Patients of Hartford Research will not have any interruption in their studies or quality of care.
